Self Serve
2022. Digital, screenprint. Originally 9 x 12 inches.
Started with a scan of a print I made in 2018. Later on, in Photoshop, I saw my original choice of red, white, and blue as heavy-handed, not least of all because the red spoke more of blood than Old Glory, and the blue not of “justice, perseverance, and vigilance” but the hottest part of a burning thing. I multiplied a photograph of a refrigerator on top, with contrast high to catch the dust.
